Operations Supervisor, Bureau of Water

The City of Harrisburg is accepting applications/resumes for the position of Operations Supervisor at the Dr. Robert E. Young Water Services Center. This is a management position having responsibility for the supervision of the Operations Staff and the activities of the Water Treatment Facility and appurtenances on a shift basis.

Applicants must possess a minimum of five (5) years supervisory experience, extensive experience in water treatment or operation of water treatment facilities and a valid PA driver’s license, Class C. An advanced degree in environmental science, biology, chemistry or a related field is preferred. Applicants must possess a Water Treatment Operator’s Certificate, Class A, type I, as issued by the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, or be able to obtain this certificate via testing or reciprocity within one year from date of employment.

Residency within the corporate limits of the City of Harrisburg is required within one year from date of employment.

We offer a competitive salary package ($40,000.00 – $44,000.00) including City-paid medical, vision, prescription drug, and dental coverages for employee and family, pension and deferred compensation plans, life insurance and paid leave.
