Residents and communities attempting to rescue deteriorating outdoor sculpture now have a guide: ÒTips, Tales &Testimonials To Save Outdoor Sculpture.Ó Published by Save Outdoor Sculpture!, a joint project of Washington, D.C.-based Heritage Preservation and the Smithsonian American Art Museum, the 100-page guide addresses maintenance, collection management, community support and fundraising. It features numerous illustrations, a timeline of key dates in the history of outdoor sculpture, a guide to contracting with a conservation professional and sections on the care of stone monuments, bronze sculpture and fountains.
