South Carolina cities receive online services discounts
The Columbia, S.C.-based Municipal Association of South Carolina (MASC) and locally based VC3 have partnered to provide affordable online services software to South Carolina cities. The partnership will allow even small cities to create interactive Web sites.
Through the partnership, the company will discount the price of its software that allows residents to request services, pay utility bills and property taxes, and apply for permits on the Internet. Also, the partnership will allow cities to obtain hosting services, information technology support, systems integration and networking services from the company for discounted prices.
Many South Carolina governments do not have the information technology staff or the financial resources to create or maintain their own e-government services. “The strategic alliance we have formed with VC3 will allow our smaller governments access to cutting edge technology, putting South Carolina on the forefront in this industry,” says Miriam Hair, deputy executive director of the MASC.
