PTI announces government innovation awards
Washington, D.C. — Seventeen local governments have received national recognition from Public Technology, Inc., (PTI) for 22 initiatives that tap the power of technology to improve service to citizens, cut costs and boost revenues. “There’s a lot of innovation at the local level,” noted PTI President Costis Toregas in announcing the winners of PTI’s 1996 Technology Achievement Awards. “And with devolution, the states and the feds increasingly will look to the locals, because we’re the craziest.”
